Daily Devotion for January 6, 2022

If you can trust God as your Help, you can trust God with your HURT! Although your guards are up & your trust level is ZERO, God won’t treat you how folks treated you. God won’t condemn you or tell you, “I told you so!”, but will forgive you, minister to your heart, help you to forgive yourself & give you a fresh start. Don’t let the devil keep you away from our Almighty God who loves you dearly. Remember, your Heavenly Helper is also your Heavenly Healer! #God is waiting on you! Be blessed! #brotherprater

Daily Devotion for January 5, 2022

Remember as a kid when you had to wait at the bus stop for the school bus? Since you knew you had to wait on that bus, you would time it when to leave the house, eat or drink something hot, bundle yourself up with extra clothes, wear a big coat, gloves, put on that ugly knitted scarf & hat that grandmama made & kept moving around to keep yourself warm. Even though it was cold as crap, you focused on looking down the street to see your bus turn that corner. In life, we become impatient & give up because we don’t know how to wait. Ask God to teach you how to wait, help you to have patience & focus on “your bus”, not on the weather. Remember, Jesus didn’t forget about you, so…. WAIT FOR YOUR BUS! #It’s too cold & too far to walk to school! Be blessed! #brotherprater

Daily Devotion for January 4, 2022

28 years ago, I started at the Dallas County Sheriff Department! I had no experience or no clue why I was there. There have been some ups & down that would have made some folks quit (and some folks actually did). I’ve been lie on & lie to, but I’ve always believed in doing the right thing, being honest, a man of faith, commitment, a man of integrity & putting my trust in God. One day, I asked God, “Why in the world am I working there?” God told me, “I sent you to work in the jail house to prepare you for the church house!” OUCH!!! Today, I thank God for carrying me this for & helping me to be the man, father, minister I am today. I thank everyone who has helped me & been on this journey with me. Even to all who had hurt me, lie to me or did ungodly things to try to damage my reputation or career, I forgive you & thank you for the teachable lesson I learnt. I hope that I made God & those who care for me proud & to be an example of Christ. #Thank you! #1 year 4 months & 27 days ’til retirement! #brotherprater

Daily Devotion for January 3, 2022

When you’re pursuing a goal, don’t look at who ain’t supporting you, look at who IS your support! Oftentimes, satan will get us off course by focusing on folks who disappoint us or any other negative stuff. Those things are designed to get your eyes off of God & His assignment for you. As long as God gave you the assignment, HE IS YOUR HELP! He will even send people to bless you, even if it’s a stranger or your enemies. Don’t worry about how things are going to work out. As long as you’re obedient to God & doing what you’re suppose to do, that gives Him access to make up the difference. Be blessed! #brotherprater

Daily Devotion for January 2, 2022

Somebody needs to hear this!
Sometimes the deepest problem will require the simplest answer. Oftentimes, satan will magnify our problems & clutter our minds with unrelated issues to overwhelm us. First, take a break right now & PRAY! Allow God to identify everything on your mind. Secondly, write down everything God reveals to you, so you can compartmentalize things from order of importance, things related to your problem vs things not related to it & things that are your business vs somebody else’s business. God will remove the anxiety from you to hear the answer He has for you (with NO distractions). Take these steps daily to start the New Year on the right foot. Be blessed! #brotherprater
