Daily Devotion for January 23, 2023

You can have 10 people who all loss a loved one, yet all 10 may grieve differently. See, the relationship with that particular person plays a huge role in how a person deals with it. There are some folks who may have loss a parent, but that parent wasn’t in their lives. On the other hand, someone else loses a parent who was very active in their life. That hurt will hit different because, that person loss more than a parent. They loss a friend, counselor, confidant & hero. You can’t expect everybody to act or respond the same way. That’s why we have to pray for folks & show more compassion to folks who are grieving. There’s no set order or timing on how long it will take to “get over” the hurt. Dealing with grief doesn’t end when the casket is closed. It is a LIFETIME journey & we need all the support we can get. Like the Texas weather, our emotional forecast is unpredictable with some sunshine, unexpected rains, tornadoes, hails, hurricanes or earthquakes along the way. Regardless of who they are or how long it’s been, if you know someone who loss someone, CHECK ON THEM! Let them know that somebody cares & is here for them. Never assume that they are over it. They may be hiding behind a smile. You don’t have to find the words to say, but your ears or presence maybe enough to help them take another breath while they’re missing their loved one. Remember, it’s ok to admit when you’re NOT ok! #God WILL carry us through…. HE PROMISED HE WOULD! Be blessed! #brotherprater
