It seems like you cool with them in a professional setting, then you allow them closer into your life & they use you. They didn’t change, that’s who they really were. Understand that some folks can do a job or duty, but they may not have the same intent, passion or spirit as you. See, the hardest truth that you MUST accept is… Everybody AIN’T like you. You set (some) folks expectations too high when they haven’t earned it. If you accept that, then their behavior won’t tick you off. Ask God to help you to set healthy boundaries & discern who to befriend, who to keep professional only & stick to it. Regardless if it’s at work, in a church ministry or even in a family setting, do your job & GO HOME! #Just Because Y’all at the Same Place Doesn’t Mean Y’all Have the Same Spirit! Taking care of yourself AIN’T selfish, it’s being RESPONSIBLE. Listen! A car can’t be of good use if there’s no gas in it. Even Jesus Himself had some “Me Time”! As many things that Jesus did & the many folks who were around Him, He always had time alone for Himself & to be with The Heavenly Father. Don’t let folks make you feel guilty when you don’t want to be bothered. Regardless if you’re a minister, parent or that friend who’s always there for folks, you MUST have time to replenish what you pour out. Remember, before you can properly serve, make sure you have what you properly deserve -A Rested Body, a Renewed Mind & a Rejuvenated Spirit! #You’re No Good for Others if You AIN’T Good to Yourself! No amount of love you “try to” give to someone can substitute for the love God has for them or the love they should give to themselves. Like a hole in a pocket that always loses money, until the hole is fixed, the money will always be lost. The same is true about the love you give them. Until their heart is healed by God, then coated with self-love, the love you give them will be lost or mismanaged. Regardless if it’s in dating, dealing with your family or trying to help folks, protect your heart by being careful who you give it to. Remember, being a good steward is more than about your money. If God shows you red flags, that’s God letting you know that their key ring doesn’t deserve a wedding ring. Don’t let impatience or feeling desperate make you settle for someone who doesn’t deserve you. Trust that God has your best interest in His heart to protect your heart.
