Daily Devotion for July 23, 2020

Don’t be offended when questionable folks stop dealing with you. Sometimes God will allow folks to remove themselves from you before He reveals His blessings for you. It’s better to be in the presence of one quality silent friend than be in a crowd full of noisy enemies. So, following with all men, even if you have to quarantine them from your life! Remember, keeping peace sometimes mean telling folks, “Peace Out!” #Quality is More Important than Quantity! Be blessed! #brotherprater

Just because folks “try to” tear down your character does not give you permission to ask out of character! That’s what they want you to do. You’ll end giving your power to them & regretting how you behaved. See, people try to get a reaction out of you. If you give them that pleasure, they win. You become their puppet & they are your master. Don’t fall for their tricks! The 1st thing to do is to PRAY! Let God know that you are at your limit & you have had enough. After you pray, listen for His instructions. God will give you peace while His is dealing with them. No longer feel defeated when you’re dealing with your enemies. Remember, God will protect you from the traps your enemies make for you IF you follow His lead & not theirs! #Let God handle it! Be blessed! #brotherprater

Daily Devotion for July 21, 2020

Don’t let your emotions lead you back to the same hurt that your mind made you run from. Sure, you may miss them, but realize why the relationship is over. Break the cycle or break your heart again. You can’t live with them nor you can’t heal with them. Trust God! Soon, you can have someone who will appreciate you! #True Love is Worth the Wait! Be blessed! #brotherprater

Daily Devotion for July 20, 2020

You will either: Be who you want to be; Be who folks want you to be; Be how folks treat you or Be who God wants you to be. Who you want to be is determined by who’s your greatest influence. That decision is yours! Who you’re becoming has a lot to do with who you’re trying to please. Stop living an unfulfilled life when God already planned a great purpose for you. Remember, if God gives you freewill to choose, no one less than Him can make you do anything! #The Choice is Yours! Be blessed! #brotherprater

Daily Devotion for July 18, 2020

Mr. John Lewis went from recieving injustice, badly beaten to become a Congressman & a great influencer. When he ran for Congress, his well spoken opponent talked down upon him made fun of him. Inspite of that, Mr Lewis won by a landslide. He had A LOT of excuses to give up or pass the work to other, BUT HE CHOSE TO FIGHT FOR IT HIMSELF! He just didn’t want change or just talk it, he got in position to make change. He was the last surviving member of the “Big Six” (the group of Black civil rights leaders who helped organize the 1963 March on March). My question is, are we (as young black men) in position to take over his task? Some of us are too busy fighting amongst ourselves, getting over on folks, & other senseless crap. Folks desiring change must do more than making a Facebook post, we must get into the political area. Just as Congressman Lewis fight & lived the example, you & I must do the same! #A Better Tomorrow Starts with Doing Something TODAY! #Thank You Congressman Lewis! Be blessed! #brotherprater

Daily Devotion for July 16, 2020

I love raw honey. I eat it with my pancakes and drink it in my tea. As much as I love honey, I realize that it comes from the annoying, painful and sometimes deadly bee. That’s why my source for honey is the grocery store instead of the bee. Like honey, some folks are desiring love, but risking getting annoyed or stung by a venomous bee. Love within itself is amazing, BUT… You MUST check the source of where or who you’re getting your love from. God knows & has EVERYTHING you need, & when you’re ready for love, He will guide you to the specific aisle and shelf to get the love from. Stop paying the price of painful experiences when God says to seek Him about love. Remember, Jesus paid the price so it won’t cost you at the checkout stand. Be blessed! #brotherprater

Daily Devotion July 15, 2020

The enemies in front of you can only get their powers from the enemy in you that you give to them. You can’t expect folks to show you respect, if you don’t give yourself respect 1st. Why build up others but tear yourself down? You have to stop putting yourself down or allowing yourself to be the butt of every joke. No longer see yourself based upon your failures, mistakes or what somebody did to you, but through the eyes of God. While you’re treating people as somebody important, remember you are somebody important too. Treat yourself as such, then you’ll see folks will do the same! #Sometimes we can be our own worse enemy. Be blessed! #brotherprater
