Daily Devotion for Tuesday November 25, 2025

Exactly one month, 20 days ago, (Sunday October 5), as I was getting ready for church, I went to the restroom. The next thing I know, I woke up face down in the bathroom. As exhausted as I was, I heard this voice say, “GET UP! GET UP NOW!” I got out the bathroom & realized I was having a hard time breathing. I crawled to my bedroom to call 911. The ambulance came & they said, “We have to take him to the nearest hospital now! The next thing I know, I woke up 4 1/2 days later. It was later explained to me that I developed blood clots in my left leg that travel to my lungs and into my heart. It caused my heart, lungs & kidneys to stop & I went into a cardiac arrest. They had to do CPR & others resuscitation to me. I was in a medically induced coma for about 4 1/2 days. My kidneys were down & I was on dialysis for 2 days. The doctors told my family all the possible outcomes (including needing open heart surgery). After 11 days in the hospital, I was transferred to a rehabilitation center for 15 days. Well, today I am walking, communicating, no damage to my heart, lungs or kidneys. I want to tell you that no matter what you’re going through, go through the process of spiritual rehabilitation. God will help you in every area of your life. The key phrases folks have said when they see me are, “You’re a walking miracle!” & “You don’t look like what you’re been through!” Let my testimony encourage you that the same God that got me up can get you up! You just don’t give up! #You have a lot more living to do! Be blessed! #brotherprater
