Have you noticed that folks go to you for advice or words of encouragement as if you know everything? That’s because they respect you, or you may have said something so impactful that blessed them. Well, that same God who gave you that word for others is the same God who will give you a word for you! See, sometimes God will allow someone with the same situation you’re facing for Him to speak through you, but that word you gave them was for the both of you. Don’t minimize the Power of God or how He uses you. Remember, if your advice could bless them, it could bless you. #Speak a Word to the person in your mirror! Be blessed! #brotherprater

Somebody needs to hear this!
For those of you who work hard to help folks & don’t get the appreciation you deserve… Don’t change! I know you sometimes feel like you need to stop being nice, start telling folks a piece of your mind or cut everybody completely out of your life. But you doing that is outside of your character & it would only make you feel miserable. See, you are a helper, an encourager & the definition of a true friend. Plus, if you’re the one who’s always there for folks & been in their corner during their tough times, well, the problem ain’t you, it’s them. There are some folks who are going to be ungrateful or feel entitled, no matter how much you help them. But inspite of how you’ve been treated, know that you are loved, appreciated & is owed an apology. Don’t let this be a negative reflection upon you or who you are. Use this time to tell God everything that’s on your heart. He will teach you who to help, how much to help & when to offer tough love. Know that God is concerned about you & the folks you’re concerned about. So, inspite of those getting to you, turn them over into the hands of God, let Him deal with them & let Him protect your heart during the process. Be blessed! #brotherprater

Dating someone just because you met them at church is like buying Chicken Fried Steak thinking you’re gonna eat chicken. Sure, the outer layer is breaded like chicken, BUT on the inside is STEAK! Stop allowing yourself to be fooled by what’s on the outside of a person & start asking questions & discern who they really are. If you’re not sure what you want to order, talk to God so He could teach you how to choose someone who lines up with what He wrote on the menu. #Know more than their crust & pay attention to their filling. Dating the wrong person is like wearing shoes on the opposite feet. Sure, the shoes look great & it’s your size, but it was designed for a specific foot. Wearing those shoes will not only make it difficult to walk but disfigure those pretty shoes. The decisions you make pertaining to matters of the heart will not only affect them but you as well. That’s why you MUST consult with God, WAIT for His response & select the one He shows you. Choosing who to date is an important decision in life. That person will either feed the king/queen in you or feed the clown in you. So, if you don’t want any corns, bunions, bad joints, or disfigured toes, make sure you wait on God for the right fit for your heart. #One size doesn’t fit all! Be blessed! #brotherprater
