Grief is like that crazy, toxic family member who always has access to you. It seems like they come when everything is going good just to ruin your day. No matter where you move or how many times you change your number or block them, they always seem to find your new number. Like it or not, no matter how hard you try to avoid them, they will always be a part of you. Today, I share this photo of the 2 people who were extremely close to my heart. The one on the right finished his course, but the one in the center was cut short of her course. Grieving over losing someone naturally is bad enough, but when someone is taken from you by the hand of an evil person is a different pill to swallow. Although there may be days of shedding some tears, our tears or sadness won’t be forever. But no matter how recent or how long it’s been since you lost someone, God promised to help us with this new “norm” of life. Today, take some time to grief properly, reflect on the good times or even the crazy times & know that in each passing day, God will take the venom out of the bite of that family member called GRIEF! #Take it one day at a time! Be blessed! #brotherprater

Daily Devotion for Tuesday July 29, 2025

When I went to a Pizza place, I saw them get the dough, put it on a pan, add the sauces, veggies, & cheese on the pizza, then place the raw pizza on a slow belt that was leading to the oven. It seemed like that oven belt was slower than a turtle on crutches. After waiting for some time, I began to see my cooked pizza slowly creeping out the oven. Not only did it look good, but it smelled anointed. That pizza had the whole building smelling good. Although I had to exercise a lot of patience to wait on my food, I had to allow the raw pizza to go through the process of being cooked. If I tried to speed up the belt or take the pizza out sooner, it would have prevented the pizza from being properly cooked. In life, it may seem like you’re waiting forever, or it will never happen. Know that you or what you’re waiting for maybe in the process period almost about to come out. Don’t let impatience make you miss what or who God has for you. Remember, Philippians 1:6, He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus! #Your blessing is time released #Be blessed & be patient! #brotherprater

Daily Devotion for Monday July 28, 2025

Growing up, when we went to the grocery store with our mama, Sheila & I would slip our items into mama’s basket. When we arrived at the checkout stand, when mama noticed that the cashier scanned something she didn’t put in the basket, she would tell us, “No! I’m not paying for that! You got your own money!” In life, there may be folks hanging with you along the way that may put their problems, their issues or foolishness in your “baske.” Listen! You don’t have to pay for everything everybody put in your cart. You have just enough to pay for yours only. Be a good steward of the time, money & energy that God gave you for you. Remember, if your basket is heavy to push, check to see if you’re carrying items that don’t belong to you! Be blessed! #brotherprater
