Daily Devotion for October 20, 2016

I cooked some oatmeal on the stove & left the kitchen. I few minutes later, I went back into the kitchen & the oatmeal was bubbling to the top of the pot. When I stirred the oatmeal with my spoon, the oatmeal simmered down. The only way my oatmeal would stop boiling over was AFTER I gave it some ATTENTION (with my spoon)! In life, you may deal with people or you may be the person who may be boiling at this time. They or you may just need some ATTENTION! A listening ear, a kind word or just someone’s presence may be the ATTENTION needed to simmer any boiling or hurting person. Miscommunication can sometimes be the cause of the rise of it. Although a person may talk, a person wants to be heard. When a person feels heard, it makes them feel like somebody cares! Sometimes the words “I’M SORRY!” breaks down tall walls that were built years ago. In every situation, stir with the spoon called PRAYER to prevent a boil or spill over, wear the glove called LOVE to prevent being injured or injuring others, & use the bowl called GRACE to set a pleasant atmosphere. May God set an aroma of peace & hominy to bridge any division. God will be glorified for the healing that will take place & the joy that will be received. In Jesus’ Name, Amen!!!
