When you’re shooting a freethrow in a basketball game, the opponents’ fans are waving objects & making noises to distract you. If you think about it, it’s the SAME rim you practice on, the same ball you practice with. The difference is the distractions BEHIND the rim. There’s nothing between you & the rim. If you’re not FOCUSED on the rim in front of you, your mind may focus on the distractions BEHIND the rim & make you miss the rim. The rule of the game is everything (& everybody) MUST be still and wait behind the line until AFTER you shoot the ball! In life, there are rims (goals) you go after. The distractions may overwhelm you & make you want to give up in the game of Hope, Dreams or Purpose. Remember, the distractions are NOT in front of but BEHIND the goal (Rim)! No matter the distractions of discouragement, hurts, lies, lack of support, etc, NOTHING is between YOU & your GOALS (RIMS)! God (not people) has given YOU the opportunity to be at the freethrow line! No one can take what belongs to you! Don’t give up what God has given to you. Look up to the hills from which cometh your help & know that you can do ALL THINGS through Christ who gives you the ability! He will give you the strength to make the RIM!
